I had been a client of Shawn O'Neill for over a decade due to a family referral, and always found Shawn and his ENTIRE team to be extremely professional--detail-oriented and responsive--with personal attention.

Then, about 3 years ago, in the midst of some life changes that left my insurance needs in limbo, I canceled my policy with them.

In the past few weeks, I came across an old notice from State Farm that was buried in a heaping pile of mail long overdue for review (May - Sept 2025) , due to my need to focus more on significant family matters and a brutally demanding work schedule during those months.

The State Farm notice was inquiring about whether I forgot to deposit an outstanding reimbursement check--a balance due TO me related to my now 3-years-closed account with Shawn and his office--that I clearly had also overlooked due to other significant life events.

The notice had requested that I confirm ownership of that property, as well as an address for any possible re-issuance of the check, with an expiration date marked as 4 days prior to my finally reading the notice.

Doubtful that anything could be done, I still didn't think it could hurt to inquire with Shawn's office, and I had the good fortune to speak with one his wonderful team members, Jeff Reichenbach.

I explained to Jeff why I had only just discovered the old notice, and inquired if there was anything that could still be done to allow for a re-issuance of the check. Without hesitation, Jeff promised to look into the matter to see what could be done. Within 3 weeks, a new reimbursement check landed in my mailbox, courtesy of Jeff, Shawn and others at State Farm.

Descriptors like "professional," "detail-oriented," "responsive," and "personal" can give someone considering Shawn O'Neill/State Farm some fairly dependable yet general sense of the level of service they will receive. But...

I felt it important to recount the details of this latest experience to help people truly grasp not just the value IN seeking out Shawn O'Neill and his entire State Farm team for insurance needs, but to also help them understand the values OF Shawn O'Neill and his entire team.

Once my next life chapter begins, I look forward to becoming a client of theirs again, and encourage your consideration of them, as well.

"I was a customer of Jerry (and later Shawn was added) O’Neill for almost 30 years and my parents were even longer. Decided to make a change after absolutely no help from the office after my home caught fire. I reached out to Jerry directly and it it was just a really strange conversation where he was really confused and honestly just did not provide any guidance. I was very distraught and thought he would be able to provide some help with filing a claim and it was just very odd. I then decided to make a change to another State Farm agent and have been exponentially happier with the service that I have received from that agent. I wish everyone at the O’Neill office well and honestly, I wish I had made the change sooner because I didn’t know what kind of service was out there. The only time I ever heard from them was if my credit card expired so my payment didn’t go through but never heard any follow up if I had a car accident or any type of issue. Wish you all the best."
